Core Lighting was a project for an Environmental Design course. The objective was to create a unique piece from something found or discarded. Recycled from a local newspaper, the cardboard tubes were once the core of a roll of newsprint. They were transformed into Core Lighting by simply cutting patterns through the cardboard allowing light to escape. The play of light and shadow from the fenestrated tubes creates a dramatic effect on the surroundings.
